Walker picks up another endorsement for judge

Nancy Walker, one of the Democratic candidates for the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas, recently picked up another union endorsement.

She has received an endorsement from John Kane, business manager of Plumbers Local 690, and the plumbers union. (Kane, a Ridley Township Democrat, recently announced he is eyeing a run for the 26th senatorial district. State Sen. Ted Erickson, R-26, of Newtown, recently announced he is retiring at the end of 2014.)

Walker, a labor attorney from Nether Providence, has received a slew of union endorsements, including the Pennsylvania Conference of Teamsters, Teamsters Joint Council 53, Teamsters Local Union No. 830, Service Employees International Union 668, American Postal Workers Union Local 89 and many others.

Walker's Democratic running mate is Steven Chanenson, a Villanova University law professor from Radnor. They are running against Republican judicial candidates Richard Cappelli, a magisterial district judge from Concord, and William "Chip" Mackrides, an attorney from Edgmont.

These four candidates are competing for two seats on the Court of Common Pleas. The election is Nov. 5.
