Corbett taps Pileggi aide for gaming board

ICYMI, Gov. Tom Corbett has appointed David W. Woods, chief of staff for state Senate Majority Leader Dominic Pileggi, R-9, of Chester, to serve as a member of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.

“Dave is a man of integrity,” Pileggi said. “We’re very sorry to see him go, but we know that he’ll continue to serve the Commonwealth well in this new capacity.”

Woods, 55, of Edgmont, previously served as chief of staff for former state Sen. F. Joseph Loeper from 1979 to 1998. Prior to rejoining the state Senate as a member of Pileggi’s staff, Woods served as senior vice president for PECO Energy Company and Exelon Corporation.

In other news, Pileggi said this morning that the state budget includes funding to ease the DNA testing backlog
