Another poll puts Sestak in lead for 2014 guv race

A Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday showed that former U.S. Rep. Joe Sestak would defeat Gov. Tom Corbett in the 2014 gubernatorial race.

Sestak, a former two-term congressman for the 7th Congressional District, tops Corbett 47-38 percent, according to the poll, which takes an early look at the race.

Sestak takes the lead in terms of other Democrats who may challenge Corbett.

In terms of other possible Democratic contenders, Allentown Mayor Ed Pawlowski tops Corbett 44-38 percent; U.S. Rep. Allyson Schwartz, D-13, of Montgomery County, tops Corbett 42-39 percent; and state Sen. Mike Stack, D-5, of Philadelphia County, tops Corbett 40-39 percent.
