Pa. Republicans endorse Welch for Senate

The Pennsylvania Republican Party endorsed Steve Welch in his bid for U.S. Senate at a convention in Hershey Saturday.

Welch, a Chester County entrepreneur, is one of several Republicans who wants to run against U.S. Sen. Bob Casey, D-Pa., in his bid for re-election.

“I am humbled to have the support of the Republican State Committee," Welch said in a prepared statement. "It is truly an honor. These are the people that are the grassroots of our party. As a party and conservative movement it is time to unite to defeat the Obama-Casey agenda."

The AP provides more details on the endorsement here.
